In large industrial cold rooms and processing areas, where personnel operate alongside production lines and high volumes of fresh or frozen products, thermal loads change rapidly. Frequent door openings and continuous operations require a system that maintains constant conditions without interruption.

In these environments, traditional systems often lead to uneven cooling, particularly in rooms with high ceilings, shelving or physical obstructions. This creates an unstable microclimate that compromises product quality, yield and safety.

Furthermore, uneven air distribution puts greater stress on the system, increasing energy consumption and the frequency of technical interventions, all while navigating the growing regulatory complexity of modern refrigerants.

To meet these demands, Refteco has engineered the REDI-RBDI-RADI industrial dual discharge air evaporators.  These units are designed to stabilize the microclimate in large spaces (from 150 to 1600 m³), ensuring uniform cooling throughout the work areas, optimizing energy consumption without compromising product quality or process safety.

Advantages of REDI –RBDI–RADI dual discharge air evaporators

  • Uniform cooling across large volumes, thanks to the dual-discharge design and balanced airflow, cold distribution remains stable even in very large rooms (150 to 1600 m³) or those with significant ceiling heights.

  • High heat exchange and reduced frost formation: featuring coils with internally ribbed Ø16 mm copper tubes (REDI,RBDI) or Ø16 mm AISI 304 stainless steel tubes (RADI for NH₃) combined with high-thickness fins. The optimized fin spacing (4/6/7/8/10/12 mm) allows for efficient evaporation, better moisture management and fewer defrost cycles.

  • Long-term reliability: the tube suspension system eliminates direct contact with the frame, reducing vibrations and the risk of micro-leaks to ensure operational continuity even in harsh conditions.

  • Energy efficiency and quiet operation: equipped with balanced Ø500–630 mm AC/EC axial fans  ErP compliant, and feature certified grids and thermal protection. The result is a constant air flow with low consumption and improved acoustic comfort.

  • Simplified maintenance and durability: built with a RAL 9002 powder-coated galvanized steel casing, AISI 304 stainless steel screws, and a hinged drip tray with stainless steel drain outlets for easy components access. Over 108 available configurations (HFC/HFO, CO₂, NH₃)  for easy integration into both new or retrofit systems.

This project is relating to one of the largest retailers in the Baltic States. We have supplied some CO2 evaporators for dry expansion transcritical plant. The installation foresees positive and negative cold rooms for for preservation of fresh and frozen foods.

For this project, we have supplied some CO2 evaporators for pump transcritical plant for positive temperature for preservation of fresh foods at +2 °C.
Les Lucs sur Boulogne
For this project relative to cooling of a production room for the preparation of ready-cooked fish dishes, we have supplied one double flow evaporator with coil and casing fully in stainless steel AISI316L execution.
